More than Men, Women Want to Understand the Risks They’re Taking

There’s a common belief that women are more risk-averse than men.
We polled our wealth advisors on this topic and provide here their collective observations along with some supporting research. Their conclusion? In reality, women may be more risk-aware . . . not more risk-averse. A subtle, yet important difference. Women are more likely to ask probing questions about the risk implications of portfolio choices but don’t necessarily shy away from taking on risk when appropriate.
