Industry veteran and attorney to play key role in firm-wide ‘team-of-professionals’ model
Naperville, Ill., April 1, 2019 — Calamos Wealth Management, a full-service national wealth advisory firm serving individuals and high net worth families, announced the hiring of Nancy E. Anderson, J.D., as Senior Vice President and the firm’s Head of Wealth Strategy and Trust Services. Anderson, who joins from BNY Mellon, where she served as regional vice president and senior wealth director, brings an extensive background in wealth management, trust and estate planning. Anderson will lead the fiduciary and trust growth of Calamos Private Trust. She will be based at Calamos Wealth Management’s headquarters in Naperville, Illinois, and will have a national presence as she collaborates with the firm’s advisors both there and at its offices in Florida and New York.

After beginning her career as a bank trust officer, Anderson earned a law degree in 1991 from William Mitchell College of Law and has been an active member of the Minnesota Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, Chicago Bar association and Financial Planning Association (FPA). She engaged in private practice, focused on estate planning, before bringing her law and trust backgrounds together as a vice president and trust director with American Express (formerly IDS Trust Company).
Most recently, Nancy was a senior wealth director at BNY Mellon Wealth Management in Chicago, where she led an integrated team providing portfolio management, trust planning and administration, and a wide range of private-banking services. Prior to BNY Mellon, Anderson held several senior wealth strategy and leadership positions at firms including Merrill Lynch Trust Company, Citigroup Global Wealth Management and US Bank Private Client Reserve.
Anderson serves as a board member with the American Diabetes Association, the National Hispanic Bar Association, Mitchell Hamline College of Law Alumni Association (where she has also served as an adjunct professor) and her local Rotary Club. In the media, Anderson has been recognized among Top Women in Finance, (Real) Power 50 and Hispanic Women in Business. In addition to her law degree, she holds a B.S. in business administration from the University of Arizona and a wide range of industry certifications including Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) and Accredited Domestic Partnership Advisor (ADPA), Chartered Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA) and Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP) from the Irwin Graduate School at the American College.
Anderson volunteers her time in the local community as a Hospital Magician for Open Heart Magic a non-profit organization bringing therapeutic magic to sick children at the University of Chicago Comer Children’s hospital.
